How do I buy an image?

Images in the "Galleries" section are available for sale.  Click the "Buy Now" button beneath the version of the image you wish to purchase.  Your  payment information will be completed using secure forms hosted at PayPal.  The process is easy and is similar to information you provide when making other types of online purchases.

What is "royalty free"?

Images for sale in the "Galleries" section are royalty free.  By purchasing and using the image(s) you agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement.  Click here to read the agreement.

What do I receive when I buy an image?

On the sample image page, there are three ways to buy an image:

1.  High resolution version of the image on CD for $12 per image.  Multiple image purchases made on the same day will be combined on one CD.  Your order will be shipped within 3 business days.  Shipping is free!  You should be able to take the JPEG image on the CD to your local printer and they will be able to print the image in the size you desire at a high resolution.  An 8 x 12 inch size will produce the best quality at 256 dpi.   As a service to our customers who wish to print their own images, you will receive 3 versions of the image:

i. A JPEG image.  Most of these images are 2048 x 3072 pixels  (exceptions are noted on the sample image pages).

To change the resolution of the JPEG image,  simply open the image in Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements, select Image Size... from under the Image menu, uncheck the Resample Image option, enter the desired Resolution ("300" for example) and save the image as a TIFF file.  This will automatically change the print dimensions of the image.

ii.  A TIFF image with a resolution of 256 dpi.  Most of these images are 2048 x 3072 in pixels and 8 x 12 inches in print size (exceptions are noted on the sample image pages).

iii.  A TIFF image with a resolution of 128 dpi.  Most of these images are 2048 x 3072 in pixels and 16 x 24 inches in print size (exceptions are noted on the sample image pages).

 

2.  High resolution version for immediate download for $10 per image.  Note:  For dial-up connections, the download process may take 15-20 minutes.  You should be able to take the JPEG image on a CD to your local printer and they will be able to print the image in the size you desire at a high resolution.  An 8 x 12 inch size will produce the best quality at 256 dpi.  If you wish to change the resolution of the JPEG image,  simply open the image in Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements, select Image Size... from under the Image menu, uncheck the Resample Image option, enter  the desired Resolution ("300" for example) and save the image as a TIFF file.  This will automatically change the print dimensions of the image.

 

3.  Medium resolution version for immediate download for $5 per image.  Note:  For dial-up connections, the download process may take a few minutes.
